COOL SCIENCE INVENTIONS ~1337~

Artist and inventor Jae Rhim Lee has created the mushroom death suit, a flesh-eating Infinity Mushroom-based item of apparel she's trying to cultivate.

DEATH SUIT!?!

"I thought I could train a toxin-cleaning edible mushroom to eat my body. These mushrooms, which usually grow on wood and decaying material in the forest, can be trained to grow on pretty much any organic material and break it down. So I started collecting my hair, nails and skin so I could pick the best mushrooms to become Infinity Mushrooms, to recognise and eat my body after I die... It's basically a fitted organic cotton suit with a crocheted netting on top in a pattern resembling the growth of mushroom mycelium, and the netting is where the Infinity Mushroom spores will initially grow. I'm thinking it might not actually work, because mushroom spores are hard to grow outside of petri dishes. So the next thing I'm thinking of is using gelatin as, basically, a second skin. As it dissolves it provides start-up ingredients for growth."

The Firefly wireless camera can be shot from a standard grenade launcher more than 500 feet into the air, streaming useful video back.

(Joshua Marpet shows 37mm flare launcher for Firefly wireless spy camera)

"Israeli defense contractor Rafael Armament Development Authority calls it a "revolutionary concept in tactical intelligence," but really it's a wireless camera that's shot 500 feet in the air by a grenade launcher. And if a couple of hackers here at the Defcon hacking convention get their way, soon anyone will be able to buy this type of military grade technology for only US$500. The Firefly can make the difference between life or death on the battlefield. Soldiers shoot it off and for eight glorious seconds it gives them a bird's eye view of the terrain around them, tipping them off to enemy positions. Then it crashes back to earth.
Private citizens can't buy these flying cameras, much less the 40mm grenade launchers used to shoot them. But Vlad Gostom and Joshua Marpet think they'd be great tools for a search and rescue operation, or maybe a boon to some local police force's SWAT (special weapons and tactics) team."

Fun Fact of the DAY(:

You can Hypnotize Chickens
A chicken can be hypnotized, or put into a trance by holding its head down against the ground, and continuously drawing a line along the ground with a stick or a finger, starting at its beak and extending straight outward in front of the chicken.

If the chicken is hypnotized in this manner, it will remain immobile for somewhere between 15 seconds to 30 minutes, continuing to stare at the line.
